Jake reminded me that I should fire this thing up again. So... memorable meals I've had recently:
* Latke and doughnut starchfest at A & C's house. Very very good-- but, just like taking a bunch of crack.
* Xmas dinner at our house with homemade, vegetarian ravioli. I made the red sauce I always make, but I put it in the crock pot for a day to simmer. I didn't think it turned out as well as simmering for an hour and a half on the stove. The flavors were very muted. And, there were too many competing mushroom flavors.
* Wine-fueled, home-made pasta dinner at D & A's house with A & S. They made the dough with semolina flour instead of all-purpose flour. It was much more like corn meal than bread dough. The pasta came out well. I think I'll try semolina next time. After dinner, we had the requisite sing-along. S's songs are very good. It was nice to have another Lids reunion.
